Our Story & Volunteers

About Us

Disability Comic Con was founded by Dr. Alisa Elliot a special needs sibling, disability advocate, aging and disability service provider, cosplayer and a huge fan of pop culture. Dr. Elliot started publicly cosplaying after completing a doctorate degree in business administration. Her first comic  convention was Comic Palooza in 2022. It was there where Dr. Elliot fell in love with comic conventions and noticed how challenging it is to navigate when attending with people who have disabilities.

Dr. Elliot's goal last year was to bring an inclusive event that is fun, new, and the perfect vibe for the disability community where people of all ages can enjoy pop culture, cosplay, games, and meeting folks like them.

Special thanks to all of the businesses that are helping us make this event happen and our wonderful volunteers.

Disability Comic Con volunteer committee is full of talented and well respected cosplayers and photographers.

Coffee (Dr. Elliot) is a nostalgic cosplayer and founder of DCC. Coffee enjoys pop culture from the 80s, 90s, 00s and has cosplayed nearly 100 different characters from movies, comics, musicians, to cartoons.
